Brian
Hinson
Brian
is the founder and charter member of A Deeper Shade of Blue.
Brian started playing music at the age of 16. In high school,
Brian played guitar with a local band called Back Roads Bluegrass.
Later, Brian moved to the bass in 1988 when he and a few friends
formed a group called Common Ground. This band remained together
for about 10 years and also produced a recording in that time.
In the later part of 1998, Brian then formed the group A Deeper
Shade of Blue and with that group recorded another record called
"There Is A Time". A complete overhaul of members is now your
new Deeper Shade of Blue.

Jason Fraley
Jason
is Jim's oldest son and has been involved in bluegrass music
throughout his whole life. His first glimpse of bluegrass was
the night that he was brought home from the hospital after birth.
(band practice was at home that night) He was 8 years old when
his dad tried to teach him to play the banjo. His interest was,
at that time, the guitar. At the age of 11, he began to draw
a big interest to the mandolin which is now his main focus.
His high school years were spent in marching/concert band playing
the trombone and various instruments. He also spent his senior
year as the Drum Major. Jason's vocal career started with his
high school's Honors Chamber Ensemble. His awards varied from
Marine Band Recipient to many Superior ratings in solo performances.
Jason's first stage appearance began with the Jones Brothers
and Log Cabin Boys. He was later asked to play guitar for "All
Star" teenage bluegrass band, Remmington Ride. He played mandolin
with No Other Name (a contemporary folk gospel group), Bluegrass
76, and is now able to play with his dad in DSOB.

Troy
Pope
Troy
brings to the group his strong lead vocals. Having been raised
in his father's church, he acquired the deep background in gospel
music, that makes the unique arrangements of the band. He has
sang with his family throughout his whole life and with some
other local groups as well. Troy's big smile and personality,
along with his vocals make A Deeper Shade of Blue what it is
today.
